What to do?

So you found the game and you are interested in playing it. Great!

First things first....

The first thing you need to do is to create an account. Go to User and sign up for an account. When you create an account you are assigned an example club so that you can take a look at the game in more detail. You cannot run this club, but it gives you a chance to see everything you will see when you take a club.

Next, you need your own club to manage. To do this you first go to your account and resign from the example club. Then go to the help pages and you will be given the option to take over an existing club or create a new club. If you take over an existing club, you will be given a list of clubs that are available to take over. If you create a new club, you have to submit various pieces of information inlcuding deciding on your club names and the average age of your players. You can only have one club at a time, so choose wisely.

Now you have a club, now what?

The first thing to do is review your club. There are probably 3 main areas to look at first.

  • Stadium - How big is the stadium and what condition is it in? How does the size relate to the fanbase of the club?
  • Finances - How much money do you have? How much money are you making? How much money are you spending? Do you have enough to cover your costs each week?
  • Coaches - What level are your coaches and scouts at? What level do they need to be to improve your players?

Next, its time to look at your playing squad. If games have been played it is worth looking at the statistics page first to see what players average performance is like, who has been assisting and scoring and who keeps getting booked!

Then, take a look at the player skills. You are looking for players who have the best skills for their position. For example, you usually want your defenders to be good at tackling

You should then take a look at your results and see your players have been used and how players responded to those tactics and formations. You should also review the fixtures that you have upcoming.

Finally, you should go to the blend analysis page and have a look at the combinations that have been used for each area of the team and who gels well with each other.

By now, you will have a great feel for the type of club you have inherited and you can start to consider next steps.

What are the next steps?

Now it is time to complete a turnsheet for the next week that will be processed. You can do this by going to the turnsheet page and selecting the options that you want to use for the next week. You can also set up your tactics and formations for the week.

We would recommend that early on you dont do too much - you dont want to blow all your cash on a big signing just to find he is not the biggest need for the club. That said, everyone love a new signing!

At this early stage, it is certainly a good idea to start scouting players and also have a look at potential player actions to assess who needs a new contract, who is looking low on fitness and who might benefit from a nice big bonus!

A turn has been run, now what?

Now you can see the results of the turn. You can see how your team performed, how your players performed and how your tactics and formations worked. You can also see how your finances are looking and how your stadium is holding up.

You can go through a similar review process as you did before the turn. However, now you will see the results of your actions too - how did your training work? did a player sign a new contract? and so on...

It is also worth looking at the Turn option and selecting the latest week. This will show you the results of the week and also the upcoming fixtures along with transfer and injury information and the various game messages for the week.

You should also review the Articles page. This is where clubs will make different announcements and there will be articles about the game and the clubs in the game that can give you lots of hints about players you might be interested in.

You should also review the leagues page. Not only can you see the current standings but again, there is lots of information that can help you make decisions about your club and players you should be interested in.

It is a good time to start thinking about the long term future of the club. What are your goals for the club? What do you want to achieve? How are you going to get there?

Remember, this is a long term game. You might not win the league in your first season. You might not win the cup in your first season. You might not have the best team in the world in your first season. But you can start to build towards that.

Good luck!
